CFD with OpenFOAM

Dear DRIMI PhD Students,

we would like to inform you about the opportunity to participate to this interesting course on Computational Fluid Dynamics with OpenFOAM!

The aim of the course is to introduce people to use the toolbox OpenFOAM effectively and independently. OpenFOAM is a free, opensource software, licensed under the GNU General Public License and produced by OpenCFD Ltd for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and other continuum mechanics. Real and three-dimensional problems in science and engineering can be solved with OpenFOAM, which is designed as a programmable toolbox. This course will utilize the power of GNU/Linux (UNIX), using shell commands, and will view and edit code and case files, where everything will be demonstrated with benchmark cases. The emphasis will be on how to explore OpenFOAM and all its applications, libraries, and solvers. Here an example demonstrating the potential of the software.

The course will be held in presence and the lecturer recommends the availability of a personal computer.
